What is Brad's bar? Well some might say its just a unfinished entry
way of a house. Well it might look that way but its actually a lot more.
Brad's bar originally started out, shortly after I purchased this house,
as nothing more than a smoking room. My Roommate at the time, Chris, had
a opportunity to get a small bar from his uncle that had no room for it.
We took the bar in and gave it a new home in our entryway. The bar was
rather small and didn't really serve much purpose besides as a leaning
post but it did get used. After having a few too many cocktails we found
that the entryway not only made a good place to go to smoke but also
made a great drinking and parting area. Shortly after obtaining the bar
I purchased a Keg-orator Kit off the internet and we bought a old fridge
for $25 and bam we had
fresh beer on tap. We found that once people know
that you have cold fresh beer on tap more people like to come over to
hang out. With more people stopping by we quickly out grew our current
smaller bar and I just so happened to win a bid on a old receptions desk
from my old job at the time at St. Cloud Wireless Holdings. I bought or
should I say stole the desk for $12. I also won 2 sets of 2 bar chairs
for the low low price of $38 a set. So that comes to $88 for my bar
furniture...... Not bad at all! Moving the bar into place was no easy
task. It is very large, very heavy and wasn't made to fit through normal
doors. after a couple of hours of struggling and many beers later it was
in place and wasn't moving. Every since that moment when the new bar was
put into place the entryway/smoking room got a new name, Brad's Bar.
Since that time we have added a dartboard, TV, computer that is loaded with Fat Finger Media Center (or FFMC, which is a home brewed program that Steve Novoselac, Chris Elfering, and myself came up with and developed to stream our music collection from one central media server to other computers connected on the same network. Think of it as a computerized jukebox.) The most recent addition to the Bar is my old 1984 Williams Space Shuttle Adventure Pinball machine which has some problems but still works.
Anyways Brad's Bar has turned into a place where anyone can come to
have a good time, get plastered, and pass out.....
Hell some I think
like to pass out for the night after a good party at Brad's Bar because
I heard the owner is rather good at cooking breakfast!!
Some of the Bar picture pages have been added. I will continue to add more as I have time. Check them out on the Photos page!
